Halfway point, I think?

A brief update

Alright Ontario, we’re on day 14, 15 more to go. I think this is considered the halfway point. Or is that tomorrow? EITHER WAY, we’re 1 point off the baseline established at the beginning of the campaign. Ford’s at 49%, Crombie 24%, Stiles 19%, and Schreiner 9%.

It’s reasonable to hope that things might start to shift as we approach Election Day, especially since the appetite for change has grown. At the beginning of the campaign, 44% of Ontarians strongly agreed that it was time for a change in government in Ontario. That has since increased to 51%. The main leader debate will also be held on Monday, so maybe there will be a big moment. We’ll see.

There have been some ebbs and flows in the issue set as Trump has… ebbed and flowed. The cost of living remains the #1 issue, and dealing with Trump and healthcare are once again tied in second.

A federal tidbit to liven things up - respondents were asked, “When it comes to the federal government, which would you prefer: A Conservative government led by Pierre Poilievre or a Liberal government led by Mark Carney?” Folks, we have a statistical tie. 51% choose Poilievre, and 49% choose Carney.
